LONDON

London is the capital city of England and whole of United Kingdom as well. It would not be an exaggeration to state that once it was capital of quarter potion of the earth’s surface due to huge expansion of the British Empire. Much has flowed by the Thames below the grand Tower Bridge of London over centuries, but the royal city continues to carry the rich legacy with same pride and grandeur. The city of Big Ben is now the most populous destination of the whole European continent. The ethnic diversity of London is one of a kind in the world where a common Londoner can be of any origin: English, African, Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi.

London is aptly referred as a global city where the hotels and bed and breakfasts are packed up round the year with huge number of leisure and business travellers. Start from any where in the city, take any house or apartment for rent, you are never far away from the greenery of Hyde Park or the hustle bustle of Oxford street shops. Important sights of Soho, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, and Regent Street are easily accessible from the London underground train Circle Line. The Ritual of Change of Guard in Buckingham Palace is the most favourite among tourists.

London is also home to one of the most famous educational institutions in the world. The city is therefore well equipped with comfortable hostels to let in the student group. It is also the residence of the Monarchy of Britain and the Parliament Seat of the country. Political fate of United Kingdom and in broader sense of Europe is determined here. But perhaps one of London's greatest charms lies in the fact that even relatively mundane artefacts such as street signs and pillar boxes reveal something interesting about London's past.
